hall ticket to the petitioner and re-conduct the exam for the I year Book Binder Course offered by the 3rd respondent for the academic year 2022-23 originally conducted on 27.06.2023 and 28.06.2023 in so far as the petitioner is concerned so as to enable the petitioner to participate in the exam for the 1 year Book Binder Course offered by the 3rd respondent for the academic year 2022-23.

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner herein is visually challenged and she joined Book Binder Training Course in the academic year 2022-2023, which was a one year course. She completed the course and was to take a final examination on 27.06.2023 and 28.06.2023. She was not issued a Hall ticket and when she went to the examination hall, she was barred from appearing on the ground that her age is barred for writing her examination. She, therefore has moved 2/5

this court claiming that she is well within the age as prescribed and hence required that an examination be conducted for her benefit separately. 3.Mr.C.Kathiravan, the learned Special Government Pleader takes notice of all the respondents.

4.Heard both sides.

5.It appears that the petitioner has been admitted for the course and if she is eligible to do the course, necessarily she is eligible to sit for the examination. However, if she has been wrongly admitted for the course despite there is age bar and then is a different issue. At the end of the day, the petitioner has been denied an opportunity to write the examination but without giving her an opportunity to explain the reasons for not letting her to sit for the examination.

6.This Court now directs the 3rd respondent to hold an enquiry into the following within a period of eight (8) weeks from today: 3/5

a.Whether the petitioner was wrongly denied the opportunity to sit for the exam; and b. If she was denied admittance to take the examination due to age bar then to hold an enquiry about her age. 7.The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
