This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to cancel the Property Tax Assessment and Water Tax Assessment in the name of Manickam and to restore it in the name of the petitioner and his brother K.Rajaram for the property at No.1, Old No.10A, Parthasarathy Naidu Street, Pulianthope, Chennai 600 012 as claimed in the representation dated 22.08.2017.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner and his brother are the owner of the subject property, however, the Property Tax Assessment and Water Tax Assessment stands in the name of one Manickam and hence, the 2/4
petitioner made representation to the respondents to cancel the same and to restore it in his name and his brother's name, however, there is no response. Hence, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, may issue direction to the official respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2017 and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame.
3.Considering the limited relief now sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the official respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2017, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, after providing opportunity to the petitioner and the private respondents, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The writ petition is disposed of.
