Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 20.06.2018, 25.06.2018 and 27.06.2018 and give permission to conduct the dance programme, songs (orchestra) etc., in the event of Arulmighu Sri Mariamman Temple festival at Cholavandipuram Village, Tirukoilur Taluk, Villupuram District. ORDER
The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 20.06.2018, 25.06.2018 and 27.06.2018 and give permission to conduct the dance programme, songs (orchestra) etc., in the event of Arulmighu Sri Mariamman Temple festival at Cholavandipuram Village, Tirukoilur Taluk, Villupuram District.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a resident of Cholavandipuram village and also claims to be Dharmakartha of Arulmigu Sri https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Mariamman Temple as well as organizer of Vizha Committee. Since the committee has been conducting the cultural programmes as a part of temple festival every year in a peaceful manner without any untoward incident in the past, he has submitted representations to the respondents on 20.06.2018, 25.06.2018 & 27.06.2018 seeking permission to conduct the cultural programmes from 04.07.2018 to 09.07.2018. As the said representations have not been considered by the respondents so far, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.
4. This Court, considering the limited prayer, hereby directs the respondents to consider and dispose of the pending representations of the petitioner for conduct of the cultural programmes in connection with the Arulmigu Sri Mariamman Temple festival at Cholavandipuram Village, Tirukoilur Taluk, Villupuram District in accordance with law expeditiously.
