O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH, J.) The petitioner, who is the father of the life convict, has come forward with this writ petition, challenging the condition imposed in the impugned order of the 1st respondent dated 10.03.2025, granting leave to the petitioner's son / life convict 'with police escorts'. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner requires the presence of his son / life convict to repair his house and hence, he has given a representation dated 19.02.2025 to the respondents, requesting to grant 28 days of ordinary leave to the life convict. The said representation was considered by the 1st respondent and the life convict was granted 28 days of ordinary leave, however 'with escort'. The learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner's son / life convict has undergone more than 7 years of imprisonment and no reason has been assigned by the 1st respondent for granting leave to the life convict 'with escort' and hence, he opposed the same. 2/6

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced the particulars of the life convict dated 11.06.2025, as well as the report of the Probation Officer dated 06.03.2025. The Probation Officer in her report has not recommended for grant of ordinary leave to the life convict based on the statement of the victim's parents that if the life convict comes out on leave, there is a possibility of arising problems. 4.Taking into consideration the report of the Probation Officer, not recommending to grant leave to the life convict since there is a possibility of arising problem if the life convict comes out on leave, no further order is required to be passed in this writ petition. 5.Accordingly, the impugned order dated 10.03.2025 bearing No.RO-VLR/241/2025-CAMP(A) passed by the 1st respondent, is hereby confirmed. The petitioner's son / life convict namely Sathiyamoorthy, S/o.Selvaraj, aged 34 years, Life Convict Prisoner No.16580 (PID No.76050), confined at Central Prison, Cuddalore, is granted 28 days ordinary leave "with escort", commencing from 11.07.2025 to 3/6

07.08.2025. After expiry of the Ordinary Leave, the life convict shall surrender before the Jail Authority on 07.08.2025 before 05.30 P.M. The life convict shall utilize the leave only for the purpose for which it has been granted and shall not indulge in any other activities. 6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
