Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the fourth respondent to record the death of Mr.Krishnan as 31.04.2001, issue death certificate of Mr.Krishnan and to issue a legal heir certificate of him, further direct the fifth respondent to give legal heir certificate of petitioner's deceased sister namely Smt.Susila. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner wherein the petitioner is seeking for issuance of death certificate of Krishnan, who died on 31.04.2001 and for issuance of legal heirship certificate and while considering the same, to issue legal heirship certificate of the petitioner's deceased sister Susila.

2. Heard Mr.A.Gouthaman, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.T.M.Rajangam, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he applied for the 2/4

death certificate of Krishnan, who died on 31.04.2001, who is the brother-in-law of the petitioner. While doing so, the petitioner also sought for legal heirship certificate of Krishnan's wife Susila. The petitioner was asked to submit the application before the third respondent after payment of late fees. Accordingly, the petitioner submitted the application and also paid late fees on 24.06.2023. In spite of receipt of the same, it was not acted upon and hence, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to respondents 3 and 4 to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner and do the needful within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
