Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the claim of the petitioners within a limited time frame for appropriate orders thereon, on the merits of this case for relaxation of Rule 5 of the Special Rules for Tamil Nadu Forest Subordinate Services and for inclusion of their names in the panel for 2020-2021 for promotion as Forest Range Officers in the appropriate place therein and for promotion.

Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner's name has been wrongly omitted in the panel for promoting Foresters as a Forest Range Officer for the year 2021. In this https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

connection, the petitioner has given a representation dated 16.08.2021 which has not evoked any response from the 2nd respondent.

3.This writ petition is disposed by directing the 2nd respondent to consider the aforesaid representation of the petitioner dated 16.08.2021 and pass appropriate orders within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This exercise shall be carried out by the respondents within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the petitioner is otherwise eligible for promotion as per the relevant rules appropriate representation may be sent to the 1st respondent by the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
