Mr.D.Suryanarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose the appeal in R.C.No.1066/2010/C on merits and in accordance with law.
3. It is stated that the petitioner has preferred the said appeal before the first respondent arising out of patta proceedings issued by the second respondent. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said appeal is still pending and not yet disposed of by the first respondent.

As it is seen that several enquiry notices were issued periodically by the first respondent and however the said appeal filed as early as on 19.01.2011 is not yet disposed of, without expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the writ petition is disposed of only by directing the first respondent to dispose of the said appeal on its own merits and in accordance with law after hearing the petitioner as well as other interested parties/ rival claimants within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, provided the said appeal is still pending and not yet disposed of. No costs.
