Respondent Petition filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, praying to direct the learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Needamangalam, to dispose of the suit in O.S.No.63 of 2014 within a time to be stipulated by this court.

ORDER

This civil revision petition seeks for expeditious disposal of a suit in O.S.No.63 of 2014 on the file of the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, (Full Additional Charge), Needamangalam.

2. The plaintiff is the civil revision petitioner.

3. When the matter came up for admission on 08.08.2024, I requested a

report from the learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Needamangalam, as to how long she would take to dispose of the suit. In compliance thereof, she sent a detailed report. She has stated that she is currently holding the office as the District Munsif at Mannargudi and taking additional charge of the courts of the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate at Needamangalam as well as Kodavasal.

4. From the report it is clear that the evidence of the plaintiff was over on 20.06.2024 and the suit is now posted on 22.08.2024 for the evidence of the defendant. She has stated that she is holding additional charge and if sufficient time is granted, she would dispose of the suit as expeditiously as possible.

5. Taking into consideration the report of the learned District Munsifcum-Judicial Magistrate (Full Additional Charge), Needamangalam, I am inclined to grant four months' time to the learned District Munsif to dispose of the suit in O.S.No.63 of 2014. The learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate may take into consideration the fact that the suit is pending for more than ten years and would apply the appropriate administrative directions given to the suits of that vintage. The leaned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate would ensure that no unnecessary adjournments are granted either at the request of the plaintiff or defendant and ensure that the judgement is entered upon within the time that has been sought for and granted.

In the result, the civil revision petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
