Writ petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents particularly the District Collector

cum Inspector of Panchayat, Villupuram District, the 2nd respondent herein to initiate action under Section 205 of the Tamilnadu Panchayat Act 1994 and the rules framed there under against the Panchayat president, Santhanur Panchayat for the removal of the Panchayat President, Sathanur Panchayat on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner on 20.03.2012. ORDER

The Prayer sought for in this writ petition for issuance of writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent/Inspector of Panchayat to initiate action under Section 205 of the Tamilnadu Panchayat Act 1994 for the removal of the Panchayat President, Sathanur Panchayat, based on the representation dated 20.03.2012.

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submitted that the term of the president is already expired and hence the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous.

3. In the light of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs.
