Respondents PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to conduct Maha Kumpabishegam by carrying out the renovation work in the temple by name Arulmigu Vallaba Vinayagar Temple situated at Sannathi Street, Thiruvannamalai Town, based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.02.2021 made to the respondents.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by P.D.Audikesavalu, J.) The Petitioner seeks a direction on the Respondents to carry out renovation work in Arulmigu Vallaba Vinayagar Temple at Sannathi Street, Thiruvannamalai Town and thereafter to conduct Maha Kumbhabishegam.

2. According to the Respondents, cost estimates have been prepared and action has been taken to place the matter for approval before the State Level Heritage Temple Screening Committee in terms of the orders passed by this Court in suo motu W.P.No.574 of 2015. It is represented that such exercise would take place within three months from today and that after getting necessary approval from the concerned authorities, repair works would commence. It is needless to add here that the various stages of repair works shall be carried out within the definite time lines fixed and shall be strictly in accordance with the directions issued by the State Level Heritage Temple Screening Committee, apart from proper supervision by the concerned authorities of the HR & CE Department in that regard.
