ORDER
The writ petition has been filed challenging the selection list of candidates dated 22.05.2025 issued pursuant to the Notification No.09/2024 dated 26.07.2024 and seeking to quash the list of register number of candidates admitted to physical certificate verification and counselling published on 22.05.2025 passed by the respondents.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner applied for the post of Technical Services Examination (Non-Interview Posts) conducted by the respondents. According to the petitioner, the list of candidate provisionally admitted for the on-screen notification was published on 17.03.2025. Subsequently, by way of an amendment dated 26.03.2025, the number of vacancies were increased from 195 to 211 and the revised list of Page No.2 of 6
provisionally admitted candidates was published on 28.03.2025 in which the petitioners name was duly included. The petitioner has also completed the process for on-screen certificate verification on 26.03.2025. However, in the final list issued for the physical certificate verification on 22.05.2025, the petitioner's name does not find a place. It is the further submission of the petitioner that 24 new candidates appeared in the said list. Hence, prayed to quash the provisional list.
3. Per contra, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission based on the written instructions, submitted that the candidates for the physical certificate verification were admitted in a 1:1.5 ratio and that the petitioner belonging to the Backward Class (BC) category and scored 220.5 marks, whereas the last meritorious candidates selected had secured 223.5 marks. Hence, the petitioner did not come within the zone of consideration.

both sides.
5. Though the petitioner has raised numerous objections in the petition, the primordial point to be considered to adjudicate upon those points, is whether he has come within the zone of consideration. But in this case, according to the respondents, the petitioner has secured 220.5 whereas to come within the zone of consideration the required mark is 223.5.
6. Since the petitioner did not score the required marks and has not come within the zone of consideration, this Court does not find any merit in the writ petition. It is pertinent to mention here that the selection process for this notification has already been completed.
