This application has been filed seeking condonation of unduly long delay of 1824 days in filing the written statement. However, considering the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the application and the fact that the suit is one for damages for defamation. I am of the considered opinion that the defendant should be given an opportunity to defend the suit on terms.

2. Hence this application is allowed, subject to the condition that the applicant/defendant pays a sum of Rs.15,000/- to the Tamil Nadu Advocate Clerk Association on or before 22.07.2019.

3. Post on 23.07.2019 for compliance.
