ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction to the third respondent to produce the detenue namely Sandhiya, W/o.A.Sundaram, D/o.K.Murugan, aged about 22 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Sandhiya went missing from 11.07.2020 and the police have not taken any effective steps to secure her.

3.Today, Mr.N.Parthiban, Sub Inspector of Police, Thiruvallur District is present.

4.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint of Sundaram, husband of Sandhiya, a case in Arani P.S. Crime No.871 of 2020 was registered for woman missing and Sandhiya was secured by the police on 22.12.2020. Sandhiya told the police and her husband Sundaram that she voluntarily left with one John @ Manikandan and does not want to live with Sundaram. This was recorded and Sundaram withdrew his complaint in Crime No.871 of 2020. 5.In such view of the matter, it cannot be said that Sandhiya is in the illegal custody of anyone. Hence this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
