Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider as per the provisions of Tamil Nadu Prison Rules, 1983, the Rules, 632, 633 and 634 and as per the G.O.(Ms).No.64, Para-IV dated 01.02.2018

and to release the life convict prisoner, the detenue, Thangamuthu, S/o.Rakkiyappa Kowndar aged 73 years, Convict No.20062, prematurely detained at Central Prison, Coimbatore.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court is made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents to consider the application submitted by the petitioner for premature release of the convict prisoner under the scheme.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of respondents would submit that the application submitted by the petitioner is under consideration.

3. In view of the said submission, the respondents are directed to complete the process and dispose of the application on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible without causing any undue

delay.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
