This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the petitioner's complaint dated 16.03.2018 and proceed with the investigation in accordance with law and file a final report.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent and perused the materials placed on record.

3.A Perusal of the typed set filed in support of the petition would go to show that after receiving the complaint from the Petitioner, the Sub Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Salem, has sought some information from the petitioner by intimation dated 06.04.2018. But, it is not known whether the Petitioner has replied for the same or not. Under Such circumstances, it is the duty of the investigating officer either to register the case or to close the complaint. without doing so, he cannot keep the complaint pending.
