Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to permit the petitioner to fix the rates of admission for the petitioner's multiplex theatre named Sree Sathyabama Theatre in the Municipal Town of Kovilpatti as per G.O.Ms.No.762 (Home) Cinemas Department dated 16.10.2017 pass orders on the petitioner's application dated 20.03.2023 as per G.O.Ms.No.762 (Home) Cinemas Department dated 16.10.2017. ORDER

The petitioner has put up a multiplex cinema theatre in Kovilpatti. As per G.O.(Ms).No.762, Home (Cinema) Department, dated 16.10.2017, the rates have to be fixed for the multiplexes, but there has been a delay in fixing the same. Therefore, the petitioner has applied for the same with the 3rd respondent on 13.09.2021, and it is now pending close to two 2/6

years.

2.Mr.G.Ameedias, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 submitted that the proceedings of the District Collector/third respondent would be signed in a day or two. 3.This Court records the said statement.

4.In view of the fact that the District Collector/third respondent is about to pass his final proceedings on rate fixation for the multiplex cinema theatre of the petitioner, this Court merely directs him to expedite the process and pass appropriate proceedings on or before 28.07.2023. 5.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
