ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction to the second respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter namely Shanmugapriya, D/o.Sachidanandam, aged about 21 years before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Shanmugapriya, aged about 21 years went missing since 12.10.2020 and that the police have not taken effective steps to secure her.

3.Today, Mr.B.Sathish Kumar, Grade I Police Constable, T13 Kundrathur Police Station, Chennai is present. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Kundrathur Police Station Crime No.1456 of 2020 has been registered on 30.10.2020 for woman missing and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Shanmugapriya was in love with one Jayaprakash, who is said to be a married person and that she had eloped with him. It is also represented that, on the complaint given by Metha @ Mercy, wife of Jayaprakash, a petition enquiry in C.S.R. No.750 of 2020 has been registered by the same police.

5.In view of the above, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, SRMC, Porur, Chennai, to monitor the investigation in Kundrathur P.S. Crime No.1456 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate, Sriperumpudur, under intimation to the petitioner and the learned Magistrate may pass appreciate orders with regard to the custody.
