ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents herein to forthwith consider and pass orders on the representation dated 22.05.2018 of the petitioner seeking to pay interest on the belated payments of the terminal and pensionary benefits to the petitioner.

2. Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he is entilted to the interest on belated payments of terminal and pensionary benefits, but the same has not been paid to him. In this regard, he has made a representation to the respondents on 22.05.2018, seeking to pay interest on the belated payments of terminal and pensionary benefits. Since, no order has been passed till date, the petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

5. Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose is going to be served in seeking counter affidavit from the respondents.

6. Hence, regard being had to the aforesaid facts and submissions made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the representation, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent concerned to take an informed and considered decision on the representation of the petitioner, dated 22.05.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, if there is no legal impediment, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that the respondents with whom the representation is lying if not competent for disposal of the same, shall forward the same to the appropriate respondent for taking informed decision on the representation. No costs.
