This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondent to pay interest amounts to the Petitioner for the belated paid Service Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension along with the arrears payable on account of 15th wage settlement at the rate of 6 percent per annum for 8 months of delayed payment by considering the representation dated

10.05.2026.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the respondent to pay interest amounts to the Petitioner for the belated paid Service Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension along with the arrears payable on account of 15th wage settlement at the rate of 6 percent per annum for 8 months of delayed payment by considering the representation dated 10.05.2026."

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner joined the service of the respondent corporation as Driver on 01.01.2001 and retired on 30.06.2025 as a Selection Grade Driver. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioner only on 11.03.2026. Further, difference in gratuity and leave salary is also pending. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation seeking

interest for the belated payment and difference in gratuity as well as leave salary as per the 15th wage settlement. However, the said representation has not been considered so far.

4. In view of the above, the respondent is directed to pay interest at 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits such as gratuity, provident fund, leave salary and commutation of pension and pay the eligible difference in gratuity and leave salary with 6 % interest as per the 15th wage settlement to the petitioner, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
