ORDER

The petitioner who apprehend arrest at the hands of respondent police for the offences under Section 4(1)(A) of the Tamilnadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act 2014 in Crime No.167 of 2025 seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 2 litres of ID arrack. Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submits that custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required and sought for anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner has 56 previous cases pending against him and opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

6. Considering the nature of the offence and also the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) that there are 56 previous cases pending against the petitioner, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 14-07-2025 RAP
