The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 4(1), (aaa), 4(1)(i) and (1-A) Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.147 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is an accused in Crime No.147 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 4(1), (aaa), 4(1)(i) and (1-A) Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act. He submitted that petitioner is falsely implicated in this case. Apprehending his arrest, petitioner filed this petition for anticipatory bail.

3. In response, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) oppose this petition, on the ground that, petitioner has 21 previous cases pending against him and out of them, 18 cases are similar in nature. Therefore, he prays for dismissal of this petition. 1/3

4. Considering the nature of the offence and facts of the case and the fact that, petitioner has 21 previous cases and that, investigation in this case is not completed, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 07.07.2023 gd 2/3
