This petition has been filed to enlarge the petitioner on bail in Cc No. 103 of 2020 pending trial on the file of the Principal Special Judge for EC and NDPS Act Cases, Chennai.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the respondent police found the accused person with illegal possession of22.695 kgs of Tramadol tablets. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. Further, he stated that despite direction of this Court there is no progress in the trial. Hence, he prays to allow this petition.

4. The learned Special Public Prosecutor submits that the

contraband seized from the accused person is commercial quantity and also 14 witnesses were examined before the Trial Court. Hence, he raised objection to grant bail.

5. Considering the fact that the contraband seized from the petitioner is commercial quantity. Hence, this Court is not inclined to allow this petition. However, the Trial Court is directed to complete the Trial as expeditiously as possible. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. 25.07.2024 pbl
