ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the second respondent herein to secure and produce the petitioner's daughter Sangeetha, aged about 23 years and her minor child Rohit, aged about 3 years, before this Court from the custody of the fourth respondent and set them at liberty. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Sangeetha, aged about 23 years, who was married to Ayyappan, third respondent herein, came with her 3 years old child Rohit to her house in August 2021 and thereafter, one fine day, she said that she wants to join her husband and so, she was dropped in the bus stand on 27.04.2021 with the child; however, she did not go to her matrimonial house and instead, she is said to have eloped with Seenu, fourth respondent herein. 3.

In this regard, on a complaint given by one Karthik, son of the petitioner, a case in Manali New Town Police Station Crime No.672 of 2021 has been registered on 24.07.2021 for 'woman and baby missing' and investigation is in progress. In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ennore, to supervise the investigation in Manali New Town Police Station Crime No.672 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when Sangeetha, aged about 23 years and her minor child Rohit, aged about 3 years, are secured, they shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Ponneri, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
