ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 not to harass the petitioner under the guise of inquiry

2. The case of the petitioner is that the third respondent conducted a search of the petitioner's petty shop on 03.04.2026 on the suspicion that banned tobacco products were being sold therein, but nothing recovered. Thereafter, the petitioner was summoned for enquiry on 04.04.2026 and he appeared before the respondent Police and gave his explanation. Despite the same, third respondent entered his premises and disturbing his business, thereby, causing harassment to him and his wife.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that certain information had been received indicating that the petitioner was dealing in banned tobacco products, hence, enquiry was conducted. It was further submitted that after 04.04.2026, the petitioner was neither called for enquiry nor the Police went to the petitioner's shop and thus, there was no harassment as alleged by the petitioner.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this court is of the view that there is no material available to

substantiate the allegation of harassment levelled by the petitioner against the respondent Police. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 08-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order PVS To
