W.P.No.12590 OF 2020: Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent 1 to 3 to frame a scheme for absorption of the petitioners who are full term trained apprentices under Chennai Port Trust in the light of the amendment made to Section 22 of the Apprentices Act, 1971 vide Act 29 of 2014 with effect from 22.12.2014.

JUDGMENT
(Delivered by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The order impugned does not call for any interference, particularly since the learned Single Judge noticed that the lockdown intervened.
2. The only grievance of the appellants appears to be that no time was indicated for the matter to be considered or appropriate action to be taken.
3. It is hoped that after the lockdown is completely lifted, the respondent authorities take no more than six months in dealing with the matter and arriving at an appropriate decision.
