O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to register the petitioner's complaint dated 23.02.2018 and proceed with the investigation in accordance with law and file a final report.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.

3. A perusal of the typed set of papers filed in support of the petition would go to show that after receiving the complaint from the petitioner, the 1st respondent has forwarded the same to the 2nd respondent. Now the grievance of the petitioner is that the 2nd respondent has not registered any case based on his complaint. Under such circumstances, it is the duty of the investigating officer either to register the case or to close the complaint. Without doing so, he cannot keep the complaint pending. Therefore, the 2nd respondent Police is directed to enquire the complaint of the petitioner and to take appropriate action in accordance with law.

4. With the above observation and direction, this petition is disposed of.
