Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation made by the petitioner dated 22.11.2022 for remove the encroachment of Government Canal that has been encroached by the EID Parry India Limited.

ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.J.Hari Krishna, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, assisted by Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 4.

2. The petitioner alleges encroachment on a government canal. The encroachment is alleged as against the fifth respondent.

3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that the Revenue Tashildar, Panruti, has instructed that he would conduct a field inspection shortly and would submit a detailed report.

4. As the representation is filed and the Revenue Tahsildar, Panruti, has taken some steps, the Revenue Tahsildar, Panruti, shall decide the representation of the petitioner on its own merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months.

5. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
