O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police herein to take steps, in Crime No.3 of 2023 on its file, to identify properties of the accused persons for the purpose of attachment of those properties by the Competent Authority under the TN Protection of Interests of Depositors (In Financial Establishments) Act 1997.

2. The petitioner is one of the victims who deposited a huge sum of money under various schemes floated by the accused. On the complaint, F.I.R was registered in Crime No.3 of 2023 against the accused for offences under Section 406, 409, 420 of the I.P.C read with Section 5 of the TNPID Act. However, no action has been taken so far by the respondents.

3. On instructions, Mr. K.M.D. Muhilan, Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), for the respondent submits that 3 kg of gold have been seized from the accused and two properties have been identified. A proposal for

attachment has been sent and it is pending before the Government. Therefore, the properties owned by the accused have already been identified and a proposal for their attachment has been sent.

4. In light of the said submission, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
