O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Section 4(1)(aaa) r/w 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.882 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that on a routine checking at Aakoor road, one Ashok Leyland Dost Vehicle came in rash manner. On suspecting the vehicle the respondent/Police have stopped and enquired the said vehicle, at the time, they found that the petitioner was found in possession of 480 liters of ID arrack for illegal sale. Hence, the complaint.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and she was in no way connected with the alleged offence. He would further submit that she has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4.It is stated by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police that the petitioner was found in possession of 480 liters of ID arrack and there are 3 previous cases pending against the petitioner. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
