Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direction to dispose of the representation dated 06.09.2024 given to the second respondent relating to the allotment of lease of land/outright purchase/on exchange basis measuring an extent of 0.02.27 HACa in R.S.No.69/6A, O.S.No.57, Mayyazhi Desom and Commune, Mahe, Puducherry District belonging to the Government of Puducherry. ORDER

By consent of both the parties, the present writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The present writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus, for a direction to dispose of the representation dated 06.09.2024, given to the second respondent, relating to the allotment of lease of land/outright purchase/on exchange basis, measuring an extent of 0.02.27 HACa in R.S.No.69/6A, O.S.No.57, Mayyazhi Desom and Commune, Mahe, Puducherry District, belonging to the Government of Puducherry.

3. Mr.G.Chandrasekaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners made a joint representation on 06.09.2024, seeking allotment of lease of the land owned by the Government of Puducherry. The present writ petition is filed seeking a direction against the second respondent to consider the said representation.

4. At the outset, Mr.V.Vasanthakumar, learned Additional Page No.2 of 6

Government Pleader (Puducherry) appearing for the respondents would submit with the following instructions, and a copy of which was also furnished upon the learned counsel for the petitioners: Page No.3 of 6

5. In view thereof, the learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry) would submit that the petitioners' representation would be considered and disposed of, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioners and any other interested parties within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of the uploaded copy of this order, which is accepted to by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners.

6. By recording the aforesaid submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry) for the respondents, the present writ petition stands disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.

7. W.M.P.No.23439 of 2025, petition filed to permit the petitioners to file a single writ petition, stands ordered, inasmuch as the petitioners have paid separate set of Court Fees. There shall be no order as to costs.
