This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 20.06.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.324 of 2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(i), 4(1)(aaa) & 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and a false case has been foisted against him for the statistical purpose. He also submitted that the petitioner, who is no way connected with the alleged offence, is in custody from 20.06.2024 and he is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for bail.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner/accused was found to be in illegal possession of 120 litres of ID arrack. He also submitted that 46 previous cases including 40 similar nature cases are pending against the petitioner. 4. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the investigation in this case is still pending and also considering the antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
