PRAYER:
Contempt petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Court Act, 1971 to punish the respondent for contempt of court for civil contempt for willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in WP.No.906 of 2022 dated 25.01.2022.

ORDER
This contempt petition has been filed to punish the respondent for wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in WP.No.906 of 2022 dated 25.01.2022, thereby directed the respondent to conduct enquiry on the representation of the petitioner dated 13.12.2021 after giving opportunity of hearing and to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of that order. 2.
However, the respondent failed to pass any order and as such, the petitioner caused notice on 10.06.2022. After receipt of notice in the contempt petition, the respondent complied with the order passed by this Court by conducting detailed enquiry and passed order on 26.10.2022. It revealed that the proceedings under the Tamilnadu Highways Act, 2001 has already been initiated by issuing notice under Section 15(2) of the Act fixing the personal hearing on 09.11.2022. All further proceedings will continue as per the procedures specified in the Act and Rules. As regards survey Nos.432/1B, 452/1A2, 452/1A3, 454/1B, final award will be passed immediately upon receipt of the compensation amount from the Government 2/4
of Tamilnadu, Department of Highway and Minor Ports. 3.
In view of the compliance affidavit and the order passed by the respondent dated 26.10.2022, this contempt petition is closed. However, the respondent is directed to pass final award immediately after receipt of the compensation from the Department of Highway and Minor Ports, Government of Tamilnadu.
