ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.
2. The case of the petitioner is that, without registering any case or furnishing a copy of the complaint, she has been unnecessarily called for
enquiry at odd hours and harassed by the respondent Police. It is stated that apprehending arrest, the petitioner had earlier filed an anticipatory bail application before this Court in Crl.OP.No.7624 of 2024 and obtained interim protection. Thereafter, the petitioner was issued with summons and she appeared before the respondent Police on 15.04.2026. Subsequently, another summons was issued on 09.05.2026. The respondents without intimating the nature of the complaint pending against the petitoner, she has been unnecessarily harassed under the guise of enquiry.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the petitioner was involved in a job racketing and several complaints have been received against her. The petitioner was earlier called for enquiry and immediately she approached this Court and obtained interim protection in Crl.OP.No.7624 of 2024. Thereafter, summons were issued to the petitioner and she appeared on 15.04.2026 gave an undertaking that she would produce the materials in support of her explanation. However, she failed to do so. Subsequently, the second summons was issued on 09.05.2026, and now terming it as harassment, the present petition has been filed.
4. Considering the submissions made on either side and perusal of materials available on record, it is seen that an enquiry is pending against the petitioner, and only on summons, the petitioner has been called for enquiry and
this cannot be termed as harassment. In view of the same, this Court is not inclined to entertain the petition. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
