By consent of both parties, the present writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Page No.1 of 5

2. The present writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and dispose of the Appeal bearing A.No. xxx of 2025 filed on 10.02.2025 against the order of Settlement Section-I vide proceeding S.P.No.8306/DOS/ST1/E-1/23(1)2019.

It is submitted by the petitioner that the petitioner had preferred an appeal before the respondent on 10.02.2025 by way of RPAD, challenging the proceedings of the Settlement Officer-I, Government of Puducherry, Directorate of Survey and Land Records, Settlement Section - I vide proceedings in S.P.No.8306/DOS/ST1/E-1/23(1)/2019 dated 22.01.2025, which was passed in compliance with the directions issued by this Court to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 16.12.2019. It is the case of the petitioner that though the appeal filed by the petitioner was received by the respondent on 18.02.2025, no action has been taken so far for the disposal of the said appeal. Under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed. Page No.2 of 5

At the outset, Mr.V.Vasanthakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry), on instructions, would submit that the above appeal would be disposed of, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of the uploaded copy of this order, after affording the opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties. This is accepted to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5. By recording the aforesaid submissions, the present writ petition stands disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the appeal and it is open to the respondent to consider the appeal on its own merits and in accordance with law.
