Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.06.2015 and 06.06.2016 and thereby direct the respondents to allot any alternative housing site to the petitioner under the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board Scheme in any of the area within Chennai.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
The petitioner would state that he along with his family were staying in Door NO.11, S.M.Nagar Slum area, Nandanam, Chennai-600035. On 16.01.2004, a fire accident took place in which his hut and other huts were destroyed and in this regard, the petitioner has repeatedly submitting the representations for allotment of alternate house and since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court, by filing the present writ petition. Mr.R.V.Babu, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent.
Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 05.06.2015 and 06.06.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
