Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus directing the 2nd respondent to produce the daughter of the petitioner viz., Nandhini, aged about 17 years, before this Court and hand over to the petitioner.

ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to produce the daughter of the petitioner viz., Nandhini, aged about 17 years, before this Court and hand over to the petitioner.

On 30.09.2021, we passed the following order: "It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Nandhini, aged about 17 years, went missing from 18.06.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Saibaba Colony Police Station Crime No.416 of 2021 was registered on 18.06.2021 for 'girl missing' and investigation is in progress.

In such view of the matter, this Court issues a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore City, to supervise the investigation in Saibaba Colony Police Station Crime No.416 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Nandhini, aged about 17 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.VII, Coimbatore, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law. Post the matter on 28.10.2021."

Today, Banumathi (Mobile No.94981 73026), Women Head Constable 564, C-3, Saibaba Colony Police Station, is present. 4.
The learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the alleged detenue was secured on 03.10.2021 and was handed over to the petitioner. Nandhini also came via WhatsApp call and stated that she is now with her father.
Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
