ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to return the temporary passport of the petitioner along with exit Visa to enable the petitioner to return back to Srilanka. 2.When the matter came up for hearing on 09.06.2025, this Court directed the learned Central Government Standing Counsel to take instructions. Accordingly, the matter was directed to be listed for hearing today. 3.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Central Government Standing Counsel produced the written instructions received from the respondent. On carefully going through the same, it is seen that on 23.05.2025, the petitioner had left his temporary travel document and mobile phone at the office of FRRO, Chennai, after the personal meeting with the Officers. Subsequently, the Officers were trying to reach out to the petitioner for returning back the travel document and mobile phone. But however, there is no response from the petitioner. It is further stated that in order to process the exit
3/6 permit application, the petitioner has to submit the requisite documents and since the same has not been submitted, the FRRO was not in a position to take a decision.
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is in possession of all the relevant documents and that he is willing to submit the same to the respondent.
5.In the light of the submissions made on either side and the written instructions received from the respondent, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to go over to the office of the respondent and submit all the requisite documents. On receipt of the same, the respondent shall return back the temporary passport along with the exit visa. For this purpose, necessary fee has to be paid by the petitioner and the same shall be paid by the petitioner. This process shall be completed by the respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
