The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 01.11.2023 for the offence punishable under Section 302 of IPC in Crime No.774 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police seeks bail. 1/4
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was arrested on 01.11.2023 and for the past 2 years, he is in prison and the co-accused in this case have been granted bail. He further submitted that the investigation in this case has been completed and the charge sheet has been filed and the same was pending before the IV Additional Sessions Judge, Ponneri in S.C.No.136 of 2024. Hence, he prayed for bail.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. He also submitted that in this case, the deceased was a contractor in Public Works Department and he was entrusted with some contract work and on the date of occurrence, petitioner along with other accused assaulted the defacto complainant's husband and murdered him. He further submitted that, investigation in this case has been completed and the charge sheet has been filed and the same was taken on file by the IV Additional Sessions Judge, Ponneri in S.C.No.136 of 2024 and at this stage, if he is let out o bail, there is a possibility of absconding. He further submitted that, petitioner has 9 previous cases pending against him.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the petitioner has several previous case pending against him, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
