The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus to direct the respondents to pay 10% interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits such as provident fund, gratuity and commutation of pension amount and last 11 days salary of retirement month with 10% interest to the petitioners.

It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners had retired from the services of the first respondent on 31.05.2023 as Special Grade Drivers, and made a representations dated 22.03.2025 to the respondents seeking interest for the belated payment of the terminal benefits 2/5
such as such as provident fund, gratuity and commutation of pension amount and also last 11 days salary of retirement, there was no response for the same.
3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that they would consider the said representations of the petitioners within a reasonable time.
4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the said fair submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners' representations dated 22.03.2025, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
