Respondents Prayer: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 16.4.2018, as per the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014 made for providing allotment of bunk to the petitioner or alternate remedy by considering the difficulty permanent physical disability.

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 16.4.2018.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing counsel for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 16.04.2018, seeking permission to establish a bunk shop at Anna Salai, Mount Road, Chennai and it would suffice, if a direction is given to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner.

4. The learned Standing counsel for the respondents on instructions submitted that the area in question is maintained by the Highways Department and hence, the respondent cannot consider the representation of the petitioner. It is further stated that the petitioner as on date is not running a bunk shop.

5. In reply the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready to give a fresh representation to the concerned authority.

6. Recording the above submission made by the learned Standing counsel for the respondents, this writ petition is closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
