This case is taken up for settlement before the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties are present. Mr.R.Prabakar, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumarasamy, learned counsel for the respondent are present before this Court.

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT The parties have filed a joint memo of compromise dated 11.02.2023, duly signed by the respective parties and their respective counsel, which shall form part of the records. By virtue of the said compromise, the petitioner agreed to pay a sum of

Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three lakhs only) to the respondent. Today, it is submitted that the said amount has already been paid by the petitioner/accused and the respondent/complainant has received the said amount.

2. In view of the said compromise, this Criminal Revision is disposed of as settled. Accordingly, the judgement of conviction and sentence passed by the Court below is set aside and the petitioner/accused is acquitted from the charges punishable under Section 138 of NI Act. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, offence is compounded under Section 147 of Negotiable Instruments Act. This Lok Adalat award is passed in terms of the above settlement.
