ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondent to consider to the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2024, seeking disbursal of arrears of pension payable to the petitioner's deceased mother.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner's father was working in the Police Department. While he was in service, died. Thereafter, the petitioner's mother was appointed on compassionate appointment. Thereafter, she had retired from service on 30.08.1994 and thereafter, she died on 04.08.1995. However, she was not paid any terminal benefits so far.

4. After a period of 29 years, the petitioner made a representation seeking terminal benefits of his deceased mother. There is absolutely no explanation for the delay seeking terminal benefits of his mother. In fact, his mother retired on 30.08.1994 and she died on 04.08.1995. Therefore, while she was alive, she would have received the terminal benefits.

5. In view of the above, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. 18.07.2024 Internet: Yes Index : Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking order mn
