PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent - Director of School Education, Chennai, to conduct the second General Counselling as per G.O.Ms.No.103, Education (E1) Department, dated 07.05.2007, before conducting the promotion counselling for the B.T. Assistants which is schedule to be held on 07.07.2010.

The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent states that the relief sought for in this writ petition is to direct the second respondent - Director of School Education, Chennai, to conduct the second General Counselling as per G.O.Ms.No.103, Education (E1) Department, dated 07.05.2007, before conducting the promotion counselling for the B.T. Assistants which is schedule to be held on 07.07.2010. 2.However, the process of counselling in respect of the relevant period had been completed. Now, after a lapse of about seven years, the relief sought for as such become infructuous. In this view of the matter no further adjudication is required in this matter.
