O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to register a First Information Report under Prevention of Corruption Act, IPC and other laws pursuant to the complaint dated 02.05.2024 given by the petitioner and to expedite the investigation of the matter.

The petitioner had given a representation dated 02.05.2024 to the first respondent which was forwarded to the Director of Municipal Corporation on 19.06.2024, who in turn forwarded it to the fourth respondent on 25.06.2024, in which, the allegations were raised against the officials of Coimbatore Corporation who awarded most of the contracts with respect to Road furniture works and constructions etc illegally. Hence, the petitioner seeks necessary action against the erred officials and conduct inspection.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) for the first respondent. 4.The learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the representation of the petitioner was scrutinized by the Directorate. The Directorate had forwarded the same to the Director of Municipal Administration, M.R.C.Nagar, Chennai 28, for taking necessary action and the same was informed to the petitioner and has been proceeded further as per the instruction issued in Government Memo No.1356/64/2, Public (Services-B) dated 08.04.1964. Since the Head of the Department is the Competent Authority to scrutinize the relevant documents and to take appropriate action on the representation of the petitioner, it was forwarded to the Director of Municipal Administration, M.R.C.

Nagar, Chennai 28, for taking necessary action. 5.In view of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (crl.side), this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the Director of Municipal Administration, M.R.C.Nagar, Chennai 28, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.05.

in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
