ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the detenu - Neethipathi, S/o.Thambi, aged about 28 years before this Court and to set him at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed by the wife of the detenu.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that her husband Neethipathi went missing from 11.08.2020 and despite the complaint given by her, the police have not taken any effective steps to secure him.

3. On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a regular case has been registered in Karumalaikoodal P.S. Crime No. 455 of 2020 for man missing and investigation is in progress.

4. Recording the same, the habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mettur to monitor the investigation in Crime No.455 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments. As and when the detenu is secured, he shall be produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate under intimation to the petitioner.
