Ms.S.Pavithra, Standing counsel for R1 & R2 COMMON ORDER The writ petitions are filed for the relief set out below: "directing the respondents to disburse the belated payment of interest amount of Provident Fund, Gratuity and Earned Leave Salary with effect from 01.08.2025, 01.03.2025 & 01.06.2025 respectively within the stipulated time"

2. The brief facts which has culminated in the filing of this writ petition are set out below:

2.1. It is the case of the petitioners that at the time of retirement, they were working as "Special Grade Sweeper, Conductor, Foreman and Senior Tradesman" respectively in the respondent Corporation and retired from service on attaining superannuation. The respondents settled their Provident Fund, Gratuity and Earned Leave with delay. Therefore, the respondents are legally bound to pay interest to the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners have made their representations to the respondents to pay the interest for the belated payment of the petitioners' terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the petitioners are before this Court.

3. Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the materials available on records.

4. Admittedly, the Provident Fund, Gratuity and Earned Leave has been paid belatedly for no fault of the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners are entitled to interest on the same.

(a) Accordingly, the Writ petitions are disposed of with a direction to the respondents to disburse the 6% interest for belated payment of provident fund, Gratuity, Earned Leave Salary with effect from

01.08.2025, 01.03.2025 and 01.06.2025 respectively within a period of one (1) month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
