This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to grant police protection to carry on their agricultural activities in respect of lands comprised in Patta No.1102 in Survey Nos.157/3, 157/4, 157/6, 157/7, 157/8 and 157/12 of an extent of 2.75 1/4 acres in Periyasooragai village, Omalur Taluk, Salem District.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that on account of dispute between the petitioner and the opposite party, the respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.226 of 2016 under Section 107 Cr.P.C on 29.07.2016 and they have referred the copy of the First Information Report to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Mettur, for further proceedings.
