ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections& 4(1) ( C) & 4(1) (A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024 in Crime No.93 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that, the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 6 bottles of Golden Eagle brandy. Hence the case. 3.The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/5

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, reiterated the prosecution case and on instructions submitted that the petitioner had sold 6 bottles of Golden Eagle brandy. 5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for the respondent Police and perused the materials available on record.

6.Considering the nature of the offence and the fact that the petitioner has illegally sold 6 bottles of Golden Eagle brandy, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 3/5
