This Criminal Original Petition has been preferred to call for the records in connection with the FIR in Crime No.22 of 2021 pending 1/4

investigation on the file of the first respondent and quash the same.

2. Heard Mr.A.Venkatesan, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have given a complaint against the 2nd respondent on 04.01.2021. Subsequently, the 2nd respondent has also given a complaint and on the basis of which, the present FIR has been registered.

4. On perusal of the FIR, it is seen that the petitioners and the 2nd respondent have given complaints in respect of the offence which was said to have occurred on 03.01.2021. It is a case in counter and two FIRs have been registered on the complaint given by two opposite parties, with regard to the same occurrence. Hence, the 1st respondent police shall follow the standing orders given in the Police Standing Order 566(2) and investigate both the cases simultaneously and file a report by finding out who is the aggressor. 2/4
