Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to transfer the petitioner's husband undertrial prisoner Mr.Sree Pugal Indra from 2nd respondent prison to 3rd respondent prison in pursuant to petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2023.

[Order of the Court was made by M.SUNDAR, J.,] This order will now dispose of the captioned writ petition.
2. Short facts are that the writ petitioner's husband one Mr.Sree Pugal Indra is a undertrial prisoner, now lodged in Central Prison, Puzhal-II, Chennai and the writ petitioner has given a 'representation' [hereinafter 'said representation' for the sake of convenience and clarity] to respondents seeking transfer her spouse to Central Prison, Madurai inter alia on the ground that writ petitioner and undertrial prisoner are hail from Madurai. To be noted, said representation as placed before us does not contain a date but learned counsel for petitioner submits that it is dated 19.06.2023. Page Nos.2/7
Complaining of inaction qua said representation, captioned writ petition has been filed with a mandamus prayer.
3. Issue notice.
4. Mr.E.Raj Thilak, learned State Additional Public Prosecutor accepts notice for all respondents.
5. Learned Prosecutor submits that said representation has been received and the same is under consideration. Learned Prosecutor, on instructions, submits that the first respondent will dispose of said representation within three weeks from today i.e., by 28.07.2023. This submission is recorded.
6. For the purpose of clarity and specificity, we deem it appropriate to scan and reproduce said representation and a scanned reproduction of the same is as follows:

7. Let the said representation be disposed of on its own merits and in accordance with law by first respondent as expeditiously as the official business of first respondent would permit but in any event within three weeks from today i.e., by 28.07.2023.

8. Captioned Writ Petition disposed of with the aforesaid directive. There shall be no order as to costs.
Though captioned writ petition has been disposed of, Registry to list the captioned writ petition under the cause list caption 'FOR REPORT' on 04.08.2023.
